Trying to find all my travel things. This is a good lesson ... don't let too much time go by from one trip to another. Can you believe this stuff?

Found my travel phone, and was excited to find out the company's still in business! Called for information and was charged for the call. Then I lost the phone. We searched the entire house and I was almost going to get a new one. But I found it under my bed with some clothes just before I pressed the send button. Whew! Now let's hope it still works as promised.

Moving right along

OK. Now I've really started to think about my trip. As you can see, I've got the most important thing to take to France. Actually, one of these openers traveled to Europe with me in 1971 ... wait a minute, was I even born in 1971? Oh well. It has a nice patina and still works. The other is a backup. One can never be too cavalier about these things. 


Now I just have to collect all my electronic gear and charging devices and batteries and some clothes. It's the clothes that's the problem. I take out everything I can possibly think of, then look at my pathetic suitcase and start subtracting. I always make promises to pack light, we'll see how this goes. oops almost forgot the toilet paper and bathroom spray, bug spray, sunscreen and a hat and sunglasses. And converters - as my sister reminded me. Maybe I won't have room for clothes.

3 weeks to take off

I should be getting into gear for my wonderful trip this summer. Peter and I will be going to my family reunion in Israel and then to France where we are meeting another couple, and spending a week together traveling on a barge down one of the canals in the Loire Valley. How much fun will that be! We'll be piloting the boat ourselves and stopping along the way to see the little towns, eat and drink, ride bicycles and just generally have a relaxing time - providing we can figure out how to get through the locks on the canal. I think we need to pack some toilet paper and bathroom spray, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, shorts, t-shirts, and very little else. I don't know why my packing list is two pages long.
